APPERLEY BRIDGE

The original bridge from which the village takes its name was built in the late 16th Century. In 1777 a stone arched bridge was built on Harrogate Road over the canal but has since been replaced by the present bridge which was built in 1936.

Off Tenterfields, close to the canal, were four 19th Century mills; Apperdale Mill, Oaklea Mill, Valley Mill and Whitfield Mill. Apperdale and Oaklea Mills were demolished to make way for development however, Valley and Whitfield Mills were converted into residential units. Apperley Bridge has a stong, thriving local communinity who, amongst other things, organise weekly litter picking events. The train station at Apperley Bridge is within easy walking distance from the property.

HOW TO FIND THE PROPERTY
