A play focusing on Winston Churchill’s time as an escaped prisoner of war begins the autumn season at the Carriageworks Theatre in Leeds.
Winston on the Run focuses on the future prime minister as a young man, lost in the African savannah.
He is hounded not only by his enemies, but the scathing words of his dead father, and must decide whether to surrender or fight on.
Freddie Machin stars in the coming-of-age tale.
