THERE’LL be a fatal voyage for many members of KYDZ Keighley Youth Theatre next month.

The group’s latest musical portrays the dramatic story of the Titanic disaster through the eyes of two dozen passengers and crew.

Not all the characters will survive after the ship hits the iceberg at Oakworth Methodist Church on March 2 and 3 starting at 7:15pm.

There is romance, comedy and heartbreaking family break-up as passengers of all classes – from aristocrats to penniless migrants – find themselves ‘in the same boat’ when disaster strikes. There is a rich young man travelling with a fiancee he can’t bear, an ill mother desperate to ensure her four children survive, a newly-appointed sailor hoping to become a captain one day, and a husband hiding a secret from his wife.

And in the spirit of the blockbuster film Titanic, one young couple meet on the boat and fall in love only to face tragedy when the ship begins to sink. The musical, entitled Unsinkable? Unthinkable!, features a cast of 24 children and young people aged from nine to 18.
