BRADFORD and Airedale Youth Choir is launching its third choir group, this time for 16 to 24-year-olds. Formed in April this year, BAYC already has more than 50 members in its Junior (six-11 years) and Senior (11-16 years) choirs.

Spokesman Becs Leighton said: “BAYC choirs are young and modern, focussing on music that’s current and relevant to young people - mostly pop, rock, gospel and musical theatre, covering Sia, Clean Bandit, Twenty One Pilots, Elton John, Queen, Birdy, and much more.

“There is a strong commitment to making BAYC choirs accessible to all without cost being a barrier, so fees are as low as possible and bursaries are available to families with financial difficulties. BAYC choirs are led by highly experienced and qualified musical directors who inspire singers with the highest standards of vocal coaching. Rehearsals are fun and full of energy.”

BAYC’s two choirs performed at Saltaire Sings as part of the Saltaire Festival in September, and will perform at Bingley Christmas Fayre on November 30 at noon and Bingley Farmers Market of December 7.

Becs added: “They also have several future bookings for 2019-2020, including collaborations with bands and choirs on professional stages. New members are always welcome.”
