THE CRUCK Barn in Appletreewick will welcome back one of its favourite performers on March 20 to share the bill with Plumhall.

Ian Prowse, who performed with Amsterdam and Pele, is touring on the back of his career retrospective album the Story of Ian Prowse.

Often described as the 'Scouse Springsteen’ for his full-on live performances, Prowse is going acoustic for his latest tour, as he shares wonderful stories behind the songs he sings.

The album includes much-loved tunes from his first indie cult band, Pele, classic songwriting from Amsterdam, and favourites from the three Ian Prowse albums released this decade.

The Story of Ian Prowse also includes duets with Christy Moore and Elvis Costello, five songs playlisted by Radio 1 and Radio 2, a number one hit in South Africa and a new track called Only The Love.

Next month Prowse will also tour the UK supporting Elvis Costello and the Imposters.

Plumhall, made up of Nick Hall and Michelle Plum, are organising the concert as part of their regular season at the Cruck Band, which adjoins the Craven Arms.

Plumhall will perform songs from their new album The Ghost of Noise – due for release in May – and as well as songs they wrote for the new feature film The Runaways.

Nick said: "We wrote an original song for the film, curated all the traditional/folk music, and appear in a couple of key scenes."

Nick and Nick and will welcome BBC Folk Award-winning duo Edgelarks to the Cruok Barn on May 15.

Plumhall will also perform their latest songs – boasting beautiful harmonies and strident acoustic guitar – on February 29 at Wilsden Village Hall.
