DENHOLME now has more than just a Community Library – it has an international library!
The volunteer-library in the Mechanics Institute holds a book donated by a village expatriate living in New Zealand.
The book was sent by former textile worker Fred W Heap, who now lives down under and has written about his wool trade experiences.
The book, entitled Collections of Short Stories, was donated after Bradford Writers’ Circle member Maureen Beaumont went to New Zealand to see former wool sorter Mr Heap.
The community library will host a coffee morning on Saturday, December 9 from 10am to 11.30am with a raffle, book sale, bacon butties and other refreshments.
Admission is free. There will be donations to Manorlands.
The library will close on December 23 and reopen on January 4.
