BELGIAN rock band Rhea will play a leading Keighley live music venue as part of their international Sleepwalking tour.

The band will headline the Exchange Arts Centre in Russell Street on Friday, March 2.

Rhea mix contemporary Arctic Monkeys indie sounds with a heavy blues style reminiscent of Royal Blood.

A spokesman for the Exchange said the venue often hosted touring bands playing original music.

He said: “We are seeing an influx of new talent from Belgium and other mainland Europe countries.

“We are very excited to welcome Rhea to Keighley. It’s always great to book a band that sound genuinely original.”

Supporting Rhea at the Exchange are Silsden blues rock ‘n’ rollers Velvela, formerly known as hugely-popular band The Escapades, and Mancunian indie/grunge trio Cosmic Shambles.

The Exchange will host its regular Fresh Thursdays event on Thursday, March 1, including “brain-melting space-rock project” Hypnosister and Hertfordshire punk/grunge trio Blood Dope Honey.

The Lush event on Saturday, March 3 promises funk, soul, vocal house and dance music from the likes of Jake Coates, Dave Heaton, Carly G, Matt Pickles, Luke Preston and the Fusion Brothers.
