THE SUMMER holidays are now upon us and they bring us more films and longer opening times, we all look forward to seeing you throughout the summer!

As the local schools have been breaking up, many have taken advantage of hiring our screens to watch our current films.

This is a perfect way of celebrating an occasion or promoting events.

Alternatively, you can have the chance of hiring the party/conference room for a full day in conjunction with a public screening!

Please enquire at the cinema for further details.

Not only does the summer bring the sun (fingers crossed) but also some spectacular summer blockbusters and family films alike.

We will be kicking off our summer schedule with Captain Underpants (U), where two overly imaginative pranksters named George and Harold hypnotise their principal into thinking he’s a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dim-witted superhero named Captain Underpants.

But if you fancy something a little more serious why not come along and see Christopher Nolan’s latest action film the wartime drama Dunkirk (12a), now in its third week here at the Picture House.

There’s still plenty of opportunity to come along and see it (our latest film times can be found on our website keighley.nm-cinemas.co.uk) .

With a portfolio of award-winning films in Christopher Nolan’s back catalogue including the Dark Knight trilogy, Inception and Interstellar, Dunkirk is a must see.

There are plenty more films to keep an eye out for this summer:

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets – in this si fi adventure a dark force threatens Alpha, a vast metropolis and home to species from a thousand planets.

Special operatives Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) must race to identify the marauding menace and safeguard not just Alpha, but the future of the universe.

This isn’t the model Cara Delevingne’s first acting role; personally I thought she was brilliant in Suicide Squad so I’m really looking forward to seeing her in a lead role.

Annabelle: Creation, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, The Emoji Movie and The Nut Job 2 are all possible upcoming films this summer.

Annabelle: Creation, the sequel to a horror film that made $257 million worldwide, sees a doll maker’s possessed creation Annabelle terrorising a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage.

The Hitman’s Bodyguard is an action comedy about the world’s top protection agent (Ryan Reynolds) and his new client: a notorious hitman (Samuel L. Jackson).

So all you need now is some delicious popcorn, an ice cold drink and a tub of ice cream then you can sit back and enjoy the show!
