Birds of prey make flying visit to Ingrow Primary School
Three birds of prey flew into Ingrow Primary School for special lessons this month.
Five children were chosen from each year group to spend two days with the feathered predators.
The youngsters handled the birds and watched them fly across the school hall to grab their food.
They also learned how to identify the birds, studied the history of falconry, and made falconry equipment.
The Harris hawk, tawny owl and lana falcon were provided by Oxenhope-based SMJ Falconry.
The lessons were funded by the Countryside Alliance through its Falconry for Schools project.
