A CONVICTED sex offender who claims he has information about a paedophile cover up in Westminster has had his case further adjourned at Bradford Crown Court.

Michael McAuliffe, 50, of Norfolk Square, Haworth, was arrested in London hiding under a new name, in breach of a court order compelling him to tell the police where he lives.

He is a closely monitored sex offender after he was convicted of possession of child pornography.

McAuliffe is behind bars for failing to comply with the requirements of the sex offenders' register and for 17 new charges of making thousands of indecent photos and movies of children and four offences of distributing indecent photos of children.

He was due to be sentenced yesterday but Judge Jonathan Rose put the case back until October 1 for the police to continue their enquiries into his allegations.

At his last court appearance, McAuliffe's barrister, James Bourne-Arton, said his client wanted to provide relevant information about paedophile rings and an investigation into "abuse that was covered up in the 1970s in the Westminster area".
