AN increasingly popular Haworth celebration dedicated to the steampunk science fiction genre takes place this weekend.

The third annual Haworth Steampunk Weekend returns from tomorrow (Nov 20) till Sunday. (Nov 22)

Nikki Carroll, one of the organisers, said: "We'll once again be entertaining people with music, marching bands, dancers, entertainers, burlesque performers, and classic vehicles.

"We will also have tea duelling, steampunk traders, a fashion show, steam trains, a steampunk masquerade ball and lots more."

The event will again raise money for Manorlands. Last year's steampunk weekend raised £4,077 for the hospice.

There will be a burlesque evening tomorrow night – this particular occasion has already been sold out.

The evening takes place at Haworth Village Hall and Community Hub in Butt Lane with 10 burlesque acts due to perform.

There will be a band night, on the Saturday at Parkside Social Club, with doors opening at 7pm. People can visit m.bpt.me/event/2391822 or call 01535 643800 for tickets.

On Saturday, at Haworth Village Hall and Community Hub, there will be a masquerade ball at 7.30pm. Tickets for this occasion have also sold out.
