CHARITY fundraisers have had a ball.
The Yorkshire Cancer Research (YCR) Keighley and Craven committee staged a Star Sapphire ball, the final celebratory event of its 65th-anniversary year.
Nearly 200 people attended, including YCR chief executive officer Charles Rowett.
The event – at the Rendezvous Hotel, Skipton – included a dinner, entertainment and dance.
Adele Gallagher, for the committee, said: "The support we received by way of sponsorship, raffle and auction prizes and donations was amazing – proof that Yorkshire Cancer Research means so much to so many people.
"The evening raised an amazing £7,025 which will be forwarded to head office at Harrogate to assist with the ongoing local research into cancer."
The committee thanks everyone for their support.
