POLICE are hunting the person responsible for trying to break into a house in Kildwick.
North Yorkshire Police say the attempted burglary at a house in Kirkgate saw the offender smash a conservatory window before leaving in what may have been a dark coloured car.
The incident happened at 2.30am on Monday April 17.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
"In particular, we're appealing for information about any suspicious people or vehicles seen in the area at this time."
People with information should ring 101, select option 2, and ask for Susan Marklew. Alternatively they can call 0800 555 111 to speak to Crimestoppers anonymously.
