HELP is at hand for Keighley people seeking to shed weight and get fitter after the festive period.

Bradford Council is offering cut-price ClubActive membership, at its swimming pools and gyms.

Anyone signing-up before January 31 can use the facilities, plus attend fitness classes, for £20 a month.

There is also an option to pay upfront for a year's membership, for £199.

All those who enrol will receive a full induction.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, the council's executive member for environment, sport and culture, said: "We all over-indulge during the Christmas period and this can make us feel really sluggish in the New Year.

"We hope that this offer will give residents the incentive to get active, stick to their resolutions and have a healthier and happier New Year.

"There is a whole range of programmes and sessions available at our gyms and pools, so we are sure everyone will be able to find an activity that fits in with their lifestyle and that they will enjoy."
