EAST MORTON residents celebrated Mother’s Day by opening a pop-up shop.
The event was the latest event held by volunteer villagers to raise money so that East Morton Community Shop can open on a permanent basis.
Several small businesses had a successful day with stalls, including the KaleidoSoap Company, Handmade Chocolates by Caron, The Gathered Garden and The Star Bakers.
Committee member Sheila Barton, who organises the pop-up shop events, said the Mother’s Day event was very popular with some stalls selling out after a couple of hours.
She said: “We need to complete the internal work on the building before we can open as a community shop, so our fundraising efforts need to continue.
“We’ve held a number of pop-up events where we open for a few hours selling products for a special occasion such as Hallowe’en and Christmas.”
The next pop-up shop will celebrate Easter, on Thursday March 29, from from 2pm till 6pm.
