A CARE trust is urging its community members to use their vote in a ballot to elect public governors.

Voting information has now been distributed to all Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust members.

An election is taking place in contested seats where there is more than one candidate across Bradford West, Bradford East, Shipley, Craven and Keighley.

Votes can be cast online or by post.

The ballot closes at 5pm on Thursday, March 22, and newly-appointed governors will begin their three-year terms in May.

Paul Hogg, the trust's director of corporate affairs, said: "Nominations have come from a broad range of people who would all bring different skills and experience to the role and make a valuable contribution to the trust.

"We'd encourage every trust member to vote for the candidate who they believe will do the best job of representing their local community."

Members with queries about the election process can contact the trust's membership office on ft@bdct.nhs.uk or 01274 363552.
