PUPILS of a Keighley dance school have again taken to the stage to raise money for poorly babies at Airedale Hospital.
Children attending the Irene Ogden School of Dancing gave a dance display for parents and relations at Holy Family School in Keighley.
The £900 proceeds were donated to the hospital’s paediatric unit.
Hospital representative Katrina Embleton recently visited the dance school to be presented with a cheque and to watch some of the children perform in class.
Katharine Hickman, who runs the town centre-based dance school, said: “I am so grateful to all the parents and adult pupils for their help and support.”
The school has raised thousands of pounds for the unit over the last 30 years.
The Irene Ogden School of Dancing was set up more than 80 years ago.
Irene’s pupil, Elsie Scott, took over the school in the 1960s, and when she retired in 2009 Elsie’s long-time assistant, Katharine, took charge.
The school began raising money for Airedale after the grandson of Elsie Scott was treated at the hospital.
