PEOPLE with dementia now have a quiet place in Keighley town centre to reflect on their memories.
A Memory Garden has been planted on Church Green as part of an ongoing campaign to make Keighley a dementia-friendly town.
Pippa Chapman, from Those Plant People in Steeton, has designed the garden and has been planting it this month.
The project has been a collaboration between many partners including Keighley Town Council, Bradford Council and Dementia Friendly Keighley.
Pippa met with many people living with dementia and their carers, and carried out research about dementia-friendly gardening to come up with a design full of scented plants and year-round colour.
Pippa said: “The goal is to provide a relaxing place to reflect on memories that feels like a 'real' garden in the centre of the town.
“There will be opportunities to get involved in looking after the garden and bulb planting.”
