ALL five Bradford-district MPs have attended a cross-party event to discuss major investment projects.

They gathered at City Hall with the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Keighley councillor Abid Hussain, and his deputy, fellow Keighley councillor Doreen Lee.

Keighley MP John Grogan, who arranged the event, said: "I think it is a number of years since such a meeting took place.

"The idea was simply to demonstrate our joint determination to work together across party divides to attract investment into the whole of the Bradford district.

"In particular we discussed the need to get a high-speed rail station into the centre of Bradford, and also the restoration of the Skipton-Colne railway link which would give a new cross-Pennine connection for Airedale and Wharfedale."

Transport Secretary Chris Grayling recently announced that a feasibility study was to take place into the potential reopening of the Skipton-Colne line, which was last operated in the 1970s.
