A CHARITY fundraising night staged by a fish merchants went swimmingly.
Over £8,000 was netted for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice, Manorlands.
The annual event is held by Bradford-based Lill Brothers.
Due to the popularity of the extravaganza, it was switched this year to a bigger venue – Field Sports and Social Club in Clayton.
And proceeds were more than £3,000 up on last year.
Entertainment was provided by a range of performers, including dance schools, bands, singers and an Elvis tribute act.
Food was donated by businesses.
Manorlands fundraiser Andrew Wood pays tribute to all those involved.
He said: “If you could bottle the community spirit at this event, replicate it and spread it around, I truly think the world would be a far better place.
“We can’t say a big enough thank-you to all those involved.
“And I would urge anyone and everyone who hasn’t attended this event to go along next year and see it for yourselves!”
