CENTRAL Soul is returning to central Keighley after a five-month winter break with the “sound of young America”.

The team of volunteer soul music enthusiasts will stage their first event of 2018 at the Central Hall in Alice Street, on Saturday April 21.

David Shackleton, one of the organisers, said: “We have the venue booked on a monthly basis right up until December with top quality guest DJs from the surrounding areas of Yorkshire and Lancashire.

“There’ll be dancing and listening to the sound of soul, Northern soul, Motown and soulful 70s music.

“We only play the original vinyl records from original release, mainly American releases from the mid 1960s to the late 1970s, but we do we do play a small amount of modern soul right up to today.”

The April 21 event will run from 8pm to 1am. Admission is £3 to cover expenses.

David added: “We have the main hall at Central Hall for dancing and the smaller bar/chill room serving beers, spirits and snacks.”
