YOUNG people in Oxenhope have been helping to pay for their own youth club.

They joined volunteers from Oxenhope Youth Club to organise a fundraising jumble sale in the community centre where they meet.

One member of the youth club has been attending parish council meetings to report on activities.

Two members, who regularly help organise activities at the club, were due to receive awards for Outstanding Contribution to the Youth Service in Keighley at a celebration event run by the Youth Service.

In Keighley West Ward young people have also been involved in planning activities and events.

This has included consulting with other youngsters in the area to ask about their interests, in a bid for local youth clubs to become more inclusive and increase attendance.

In Bracken Bank young people have been involved in environmental projects, with users befriending older people.

A group of young people from Braithwaite took public transport to Bradford to attend the cinema.

The trip was designed to encourage people to stay away from anti-social behaviour in the lead-up to bonfire night, and present a positive image of young people from the area.

Some of the projects in Keighley West have included police, schools, community development workers and ward councillors alongside Bradford Council staff.
