KEIGHLEY charities are being invited to bid to become the flagship charity partner for the town’s Sainsbury’s store.
The supermarket chain’s Local Charity of the Year scheme is back for the tenth year, and each branch needs a good cause to support.
The Keighley store will shortlist three registered charities to go to customers to vote for, and the winner will receive a year of support from the store, including fundraising and awareness-raising.
Nominations close on May 23, and customers can vote between June 11 and 24 in stores and online.
The Keighley store’s Charity Ambassador said: “There are so many fantastic charities in the local area which do brilliant work in our community.
“We’ve had a great year working in partnerships with the Cellar Trust and we’re excited to be offering a new charity the chance to receive support from our customers and colleagues.”
Charities can either write a letter to Trish at Keighley’s Sainsbury’s, or apply in store.
Last year, Sainsbury’s Local Charity of the Year scheme raised over £1.2 million for UK charities.
