PLANS to improve mental health services across the region will be outlined at a meeting on Thursday (May 24).

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust is to spotlight the proposals at its board meeting, which the public is invited to attend.

The plans have been drawn-up in partnership with three other NHS trusts, which together have formed the West Yorkshire Mental Health Services Collaborative.

Its aim is to further develop mental health services in the region by setting-up a so-called ‘committees in common’ governance structure.

Each trust will still be responsible for its own services, but will work with others towards shared goals.

Liz Romaniak (pictured), interim chief executive of Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We’re really pleased to be part of this important partnership.

“We look forward to supporting each other and working collaboratively to continue to deliver great care to our communities, and to ensure it is accessible to all and safeguarded for the future.

“The more-formal arrangement will build on joint work that is already underway.”

The board meeting takes place at the trust’s headquarters in New Mill, Victoria Road, Saltaire, from 1.30pm to 4pm.
