SCOTTISH hard rock trio The Amorettes will give a performance at the Octagon Live venue in Keighley at 7.30pm on Friday, September 14.

The rock and roll band, which includes vocalist/guitarist Gill Montgomery, drummer Hannah McKay and bass player Heather McKay, have been described by critics as “like Airbourne fronted by Joan Jett” and a “female Motorhead”.

The Amorettes, who have toured across the UK and Europe, have recently supported bands such as Queen and Guns N’ Roses at large festivals.

The all-girl band’s current album Born to Break has dented the UK top 30.

The concert is organised by regular Bingley and Keighley music promoters BAC2LIVE.

Tickets for the concert are available online at ticketsource.co.uk/bac2liverocks, by ringing 0333 666 3366 or in person from the venue during opening hours.

A spokesman said: “Whilst today’s popular music world seems to be based around the idea of style over substance, The Amorettes have a very simple plan, taking over the world one show at a time!

“No fuss! No gimmicks! Just good, old-fashioned hard work, and great songs. “Anyone who’s ever experienced an Amorettes live show can easily testify to the buzz of expectation that kicks in as soon the lights go down, and the intro rolls.

“The roar from the crowd builds expectation from the very start, and the energy and intensity doesn’t let up until we reach the end together.”
