THE LEGACY of the Tour de France coming through Silsden is continuing this summer.
Residents again came together to organise the Grand deParty which featured a month of special activities for all ages.
Silsden Town Band performed to a crowd of about 150 people at an event organised by Neil Whitaker and Churches Together in Silsden.
Other events have included the Silsden Duck Race, a Silsden Park Fun Day organised by the Grand deParty Group, a local history walk organised by Silsden Local History Group, and last weekend’s Silsden Gala.
The Grand deParty was first held in 2014 when the famous French cycling race passed through Silsden as part of its Yorkshire-wide route.
The Tour de Yorkshire, devised following the success of the Grand Depart, has since used Silsden as part of its route.
