A DEVELOPER is helping village schoolchildren with their wildlife studies.

David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West has donated a bee and bug house, and wildlife-spotting sheets, to Cullingworth Primary School.

Curtis Sorren, sales advisor at the firm’s Hewenden Ridge scheme in the village, visited the pupils to present the items.

He said: “It was lovely to visit the school and encourage the children to get out of the classroom spotting wildlife.

“We are committed to encouraging nature-friendly best practice that helps people, plants and animals become healthier and happier around our developments.”

Mrs Susie Byrnes, early years leader at the school, said: “It was brilliant to have Curtis visit the school and inspire the children.

“They really enjoyed searching for creepy crawlies, bees and butterflies and are excited to see what they can spot over the coming months in and around their insect house, which now has pride of place in our school grounds.”
