PROWLING trespassers in balaclavas were spotted outside a home after dark in Oxenhope.

The warning was delivered during an update on reported crime given to Oxenhope parish councillors during their latest meeting.

Commenting yesterday evening (August 8), Cllr Peter McManus said a Marsh resident had told him about the trespassing incident, which occurred outside his home the previous week.

He said the resident had checked his security camera the morning after hearing a suspicious noise in the night. The footage showed four men in balaclavas wandering around the property.

Cllr McManus advised people aware of other such incidents to get in touch with the police.

A separate, written police report on reported offences in the parish during July, was read out to councillors at the meeting.

This featured a theft of stone slabs, two cases of goods being stolen from the Oxenhope Co-op, and an attempted burglary at a house in Marsh.

There was also a theft from a motor vehicle, along with a theft of a vehicle.

The council was told the vehicle which was taken was stolen from Station Road, but that a suspect had been identified and arrested following this incident.
