A NEW course has been launched to help people overcome low mood, anxiety and other common ups and downs in life.

The new course, Living Life to the Full, covers different topics every session, over an eight-week period.

Topics include; I can’t be bothered doing anything; how to fix almost everything; keeping your temper and ten things you can do to help you feel happier straight away. It is run by MyWellbeing College which is a free NHS service.

The next course in Ilkley starts on October 30 at Ilkley Medical Centre. It runs for eight consecutive weeks.

Gayle Porter, MyWellbeing College Manager, said: “If you want to overcome common problems related to stress or low mood, this practical step-by-step course focuses on how to change how you think, feel and behave. The course will help you develop new skills to manage any problems more effectively.

“You are more than welcome to bring a friend or relative alone with you to the course for extra support.”

The MyWellbeing College, which is run by Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, already offers a range of opportunities to help people combat life’s ups and downs, from online courses that people can complete in the comfort of their own home, to getting out and meeting new people at group courses.

The college also runs the group course, Stress Control, which helps if you are experiencing effects of stress or anxiety, such as difficulties with sleep, panic or low mood.

The next Stress Control courses in Ilkley starts on September 18 at Ilkley Medical Centre. This course runs for six consecutive weeks.

The MyWellbeing College is open to anyone over the age of 16 who is registered with a GP in Bradford, Wharfedale, Airedale or Craven.
