AIREDALE Hospital is opening-up its operating theatres to the public.
An annual open day takes place on Saturday, October 13, from 11am to 3pm.
Visitors will be able to learn more about how the body works and the equipment used in the theatres, and try their hand at 'operating'.
Careers information will be available for anyone interested in working in the NHS.
And there will be fundraising activities, including a tombola, with proceeds going towards improvements in the department – such as wall murals to create a more welcoming environment for children.
"Everyone is welcome and the event is free – just turn up on the day," said a hospital spokesman.
"There will be fun and education for the whole family."
Visitors should enter the hospital via the education centre – building 18 – from where they will be directed to the operating theatres.
