ANYTHING Goes in Sutton next spring as the village’s long-established Green Hut Theatre Company stages the frothy musical.
The group is hoping to attract newcomers to its crew to play either leading roles in the ocean-going show or take part in the chorus.
The Green Hut Theatre Company, formerly Sutton Amateurs, which is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, will hold auditions on Thursday, November 8.
Rehearsals will run from January through to a week of performances at Sutton Village Hall next April.
Anything Goes is set on an ocean liner during the 1930s and follows the light-hearted adventures of a diverse set of passengers.
There is club singer Reno Sweeney, young Billy Crocker who is pursuing the girl of his dreams across the Atlantic, lovelorn aristocrat Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, and a gangster and his moll fleeing the police.
The show features a host of well-known Cole Porter songs including I Get a Kick Out of You Let’s Misbehave, You’re The Top, All Through The Night, De-Lovely, and of course the high-kicking Anything Goes.
Anyone wishing to know more about the parts on offer in Anything Goes or to sign up for auditions should email suttongreenhuttheatre@gmail.com or call 07897 247733.
