A RANGE of brand new equipment designed to aid fun, physically active lessons for pupils at Haworth Primary has now been delivered to the school.

Children have received a free Premier League Primary Stars equipment pack.

Stocked full of items including Nike match footballs, training bibs and numbered and lettered floor markers, the pack will help teachers conduct lessons designed to get pupils moving.

The kit was awarded to the school following PE teacher Sue Roberts' successful application.

The scheme is part of the Premier League Primary Stars education programme which uses the appeal of professional football clubs to encourage children at England and Wales primary schools to learn, be active and develop important life skills.

Within this programme, primary school teachers are also offered free curriculum-linked resources in different subjects, giving their school the opportunity to enter competitions and access free offers such as the equipment delivered to Haworth Primary.

Ms Roberts said: “The equipment is a fantastic addition to our resources, as it links PE with numeracy in a fun and engaging way.

"The pupils at Haworth are really enjoying getting fitter and developing their football skills using the new equipment.”

Richard Scudamore, executive chairman of the Premier League, said: “The Premier League Primary Stars kit and equipment packs provide a fantastic boost to schools at the start of the new school year.

"We hope that coupled with the free downloadable online resources, we can inspire children to do their best in the classroom and on the sports field.”
