CROWDS will be making tracks to Keighley this month for a popular annual model railway event.

Keighley Model Railway Club is staging its tenth 7mm Festival, on Sunday, October 14.

Around ten club and guest layouts will be in operation.

There will also be O-gauge traders, clinics and displays, plus a bring-and-buy stall.

Catering will be provided by Denholme Scouts, with a range of hot and cold food and homemade cakes.

“Our 7mm group has been well known throughout the modelling world for almost 40 years for creating some of the country’s most sought-after exhibition-standard layouts – winning many awards along the way,” said a club spokesman.

“Its members and their layouts have contributed to a number of books, videos and television features and the group is an integral part of the club and its annual exhibition each March.

“Over the past nine years, the 7mm Festival has matured into an established event in the O-gauge calendar.”

The event takes place at the clubrooms. in Keighley Business Centre, Knowle Mill, South Street, between 10am and 4.30pm.

Admission is £4 for adults and £2.50 for children. There is free parking.

Visitors with mobility issues are asked by the organisers to note that whilst there is wheelchair access to the clubrooms, the toilets are not wheelchair accessible.
