A SCHEME launched to help Keighley businesses save money is proving a huge success.

Increasing numbers are signing-up for the initiative, which so far has identified more than £75,000 in savings for Keighley Business Improvement District (BID) members.

Keighley BID teamed-up last year with specialist advisor Meercat Associates on the project to slash members' spending on a range of products and services.

Using the 'buying power' of more than 200 BIDs, Meercat helps businesses cut costs in areas including energy and telecommunications.

Keighley BID manages and funds the scheme in the town.

Among businesses which have benefited is Hairavanti, in Cavendish Street.

Manager and owner, Stefania Risidi, said: "It's hard work running a busy salon, so when we found out about the cost-savings scheme we jumped at the chance.

"All we had to do was provide a few documents and the rest was done for us. Meercat switched our suppliers, saving us several thousand pounds on our bills."
