COMMUNITY groups in Silsden, Sutton and Keighley are sharing in £9,950 of grants from the Craven and Beamsley Trusts.

Keighley drug and alcohol advice service Project 6 was awarded £250 to buy a freezer, pots and pans for its new Monday Food group, which was set up by volunteers to provide food for individuals and families in need.

More than £500 was granted to the youth theatre at Sutton’s Green Hut Theatre Company for items including heaters, plimsolls, clothes bags, and room dividers for the changing rooms.

Silsden Youth CIC was given money for a new projector and TV to play soundtracks for dance workshops, gaming, and music listening.

Happy Days Children’s Charity, which provides holidays, day trips and theatre performance visits for children and young people with special needs, was given £1,000 for a trip to the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford by local children.

Revitalise, a provider of respite breaks for disabled people and carers, was given £1,062 to help three local people take an enjoyable but safe holiday. Six small grants were made to people in need.

Each year the Craven and Beamsley Trusts make grants of over £35,000 to good causes in Craven and Keighley.
