Yorkshire Homemade Foraged Sloe Gin
Ingredients
500g Sloes (foraged if possible)
750ml gin (you can use any kind/brand of gin)
340g sugar
Method
1. Find your Sloes!
2. Give them a good rinse in cold water then let them drip dry in a colander.
3. Freeze them for at least 24 hours.
4. Place the frozen Sloes in a large Kilner jar.
5. Add the sugar then the gin and give it a good shake with the lid on.
6. Continue to give the jar a good shake for the next two to three months (the longer and more regularly the better).
7. Strain the liquid into clean glass bottles and enjoy!
Note: Sloe Gin improves with age so if you can make enough then allow a bottle to age for another year for an even better flavour. I hope you enjoy making and drinking your own foraged Sloe Gin!
