TWO new apprentices have been taken on by town-centre businesses thanks to a Keighley Business Improvement District (BID) scheme.
Both Stirk Lambert Accountants and beauty salon Hairavanti are training-up college recruits, with funding support from BID.
Paul Howard, Keighley BID manager, said: “The town is full of aspiring young people, a lot of whom study at the college.
“We saw this scheme as a great chance to help them and some of our independent businesses by funding a limited number of apprenticeship places.”
Stef Risidi, of Hairavanti, welcomes the initiative.
She said: “We are busy and taking on an apprentice helps us to not only relieve some of that strain, but also train-up a future employee.”
