THE CHILDREN of Keighley’s wild woods were treated to a spooky time for Halloween.

All children who attend the Wild Woods club in Park Wood and Hainworth Wood were invited to the celebration event at the Parkwood Street play area.

Children aged five and above spend Saturdays doing Forest School activities including woodland games, crafts and campfires.

The event was supported by Keighley’s ASDA store and the Keelham Farm Shop who provided pumpkins for a carving competition.

Keighley Big Local coordinator Shaun O’Hare said: “It was a brilliant effort by volunteers and local residents led by the Big Local All for Play team.”

Play Team member Lizzie Lee said: “Thank you to our precious volunteers and everyone who chipped in on the spot to help make the event a success, fab team and community spirit!”

Local resident Christine Meeking said it was great to see children having fun outside.

Another resident, Fellina Judson, said: “There was a fantastic day out with the kids yesterday, they had lots of fun!”

The Wild Woods Club alternates between Hainworth Wood and Park Wood. Call Lizzie on 07885 588451 for further information.
