KEIGHLEY Bus Company is paying its own moving tribute to the fallen as the nation prepares to remember.

Large poppies are being displayed on the front of several of its vehicles on routes across West and North Yorkshire.

And members of the armed forces will be able to travel for free on any of the company's services on Remembrance Sunday.

Alex Hornby, Keighley Bus Company chief executive officer, said: "This year's remembrance has additional significance, marking 100 years since the end of the First World War, so we felt it was right to increase our support for the excellent work done by the Royal British Legion.

"We hope that by prominently showing our backing for the Poppy Appeal on the front of our buses, many of our customers will join us in contributing to this excellent cause.

"We're also pleased once again to be able to offer free travel to all members of the armed forces on Remembrance Sunday. Many will be attending remembrance events across Yorkshire, and this is our way of showing our gratitude to them for all that they do for us.

"All the team at our Keighley depot is fully behind this – we feel it’s vitally important to remember the sacrifices made for our freedom, particularly a century on from the end of the Great War."

Through buying the large poppies, Keighley Bus Company's parent firm Transdev has raised £1,459 for the Royal British Legion.
