A COUPLE who run a Cross Hills transport firm have held a tenth – and final – fundraising party in aid of Manorlands.

The event, at Cougar Park, Keighley, coined-in £5,478.

Since Chris and Debra Hagar – of CSH Bulk Transport Ltd – first staged the parties, more than £48,000 has been raised for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

"We are hugely grateful for the generous donations made for our chosen charity," say the couple.

"We've decided that this will be our final party, mainly due to falling numbers over the years.

"There are many causes people like to support, so we are hugely grateful for the generous donations made for Manorlands.

"It is such a special place that we will always support the hospice, albeit in different ways going forwards."

Tribute is paid by Manorlands community fundraiser, Liv Moffat.

"We're so grateful to the couple and their supporters for raising such an incredible amount," she said.

"The money that Debra and Chris have raised over the years allows us to be an unwavering source of support for people on their most difficult journeys.

"We really take the time to understand what a person is going through, and then offer emotional and medical help tailored to their needs.

"Thanks to the fundraising support received, we can continue to be counted on to be there when it matters."
