KEIGHLEY shoppers are again being urged to support the town’s independent businesses in the run-up to Christmas.

More than 80 Keighley businesses are taking part in the bi-annual Independents’ Campaign running from November 25 to December 20.

There is a top prize of £1,000 in shopping vouchers and five runners-up prizes of £100, to be spent with participating businesses.

The campaign is free to enter, with shoppers asked to collect A card and three stamps from independent businesses for their chance to win.

Businesses taking part will be identified by the ‘Enter here’ poster in their window, and will be listed on the collectors card. There is no minimum purchase required so any 3 purchases from separate businesses will qualify.

Phil Walker, project manager for Keighley Improvement District (BID), said the Independents’ Campaign was a great way to promote independent businesses in the town centre.

He added: “It also rewards customers by giving them a chance to win a huge prize, simply by collecting a stamp each time they make a purchase.”

During the Christmas period, shoppers will also be offered free parking every Saturday in December plus Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, in the Airedale Shopping Centre. Visitors will also be able to park for free after 3pm on December 6, 13, 20 and 21.
