PEOPLE across Keighley are being urged to support Christingle services.
The plea has been issued by the Children’s Society, which introduced the Christingle tradition in this country 50 years ago.
Services take place at churches district-wide in the run-up to Christmas.
Money raised through the initiative supports the work of the Children’s Society, helping vulnerable youngsters.
This year the charity has produced a special song which congregations, schools and choirs are invited to use.
Matthew Reed (pictured), for the Children’s Society, said: “We are truly grateful for the huge difference that Christingle services in Keighley and across West Yorkshire make to vulnerable children, year after year.
“For thousands of children, Christmas is just another time when they feel like no one cares about them at all.
“This year we want to help even more of the country’s most vulnerable children.
“We hope more people than ever come along to celebrate as we mark the 50th anniversary of Christingle.”
