I REMEMBER running around as a child with my little green hat and my DIY bow in hand as I re-enacted some of my favourite tales about Sherwood Forest and one of my childhood heroes Robin Hood. So when I heard that a new film titled ‘Robin Hood’ (12a) was due for release on November 21, it brought all the fond memories back.

In this reboot we see Robin of Loxley (Taron Egerton) a war-hardened Crusader, and his Moorish commander (Jamie Foxx) mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown in a thrilling action-adventure packed with gritty battlefield exploits, mind-blowing fight choreography, and a timeless romance.

Released on the same day (November 21) is The Girl In The Spider’s Web (15). The film, a soft-reboot with different actors, is a sequel to David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and the second instalment in the American-produced Millennium film series.

In this, fired from the National Security Agency, Frans Balder recruits hacker Lisbeth Salander to steal FireWall, a computer program that can access codes for nuclear weapons worldwide. The download soon draws attention from an NSA agent who traces the activity to Stockholm. Further problems arise when Russian thugs take Lisbeth’s laptop and kidnap a math whiz who can make FireWall work. Now, Lisbeth and an unlikely ally must race against time to save the boy and recover the codes to avert disaster.

If you’re looking for something a little more laidback and less serious then we have something which I think you will enjoy. Nativity Rocks! (U) is due to hit the big screens on November 23. In this new instalment the popular Nativity series, the staff and students at St Bernadette’s Primary School audition for a coveted place in a spectacular rock musical competition.

This one looks fun and full of laughs so if you want the perfect way to start the run of great Christmas films coming your way this year then Nativity Rocks will definitely get you in the Christmas mood.

Another one for the kids which is due out on November 30 is Ralph Breaks The Internet (PG). With the popularity of the first Wreck-It Ralph film I’m sure there are plenty of you who won’t want to miss this one!

Video game bad guy Ralph and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz must risk it all by traveling to the World Wide Web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet, the netizens to help navigate their way, including an entrepreneur named Yesss, who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site “BuzzzTube”.

We also get to see some of your favourite Disney princesses from throughout the years but they’re not how you would expect so keep a look out for this one!
