A COUNCIL chairman suggested it might be worth employing a lengthsman for the village of Oxenhope.
Cllr Ken Eastwood put forward the idea to parish council colleagues. He suggested it was worth including within plans for the council's next budget.
"We do have enough work to give to this kind of employee," he said. "It's a resource which could be invaluable for the village, and I know other parish councils have done it."
Cllr David Ashcroft said he would support raising this as an agenda item at the next parish council meeting.
Cllr Robert Goulding noted there were liabilities involved with employing someone, so the council would need to investigate the idea further.
