THE accolade of Large Hotel of the Year awarded to The Devonshire Arms Hotel and Spa has added to the Bolton Abbey establishment’s long list of distinctions this year.

The Hotel was given the award at the Welcome to Yorkshire White Rose Awards in a ceremony in Harrogate.

On the same evening the hotel won Best Wine Cellar at the Best Loved Hotels Awards, in Cirencester.

These wins add to a harvest of other awards this year including a four AA rosette rating for its Burlington Restaurant; ‘Elite Restaurant of the Year’ in the Aagrah Elite Yorkshire Business Awards 2018, and ‘Concierge of the Year’ being bestowed to Head Concierge, Andrew Seward, in the Boutique Hotelier ‘Personal Service Stars Awards.

Managing Director of The Devonshire Hotels and Restaurants Group, Richard Palmer, said: “We are delighted with all of the Awards achieved over the past few weeks, and especially to be once again donning the crown as ‘Best Large Hotel’ in Yorkshire. We also won this coveted award in 2016, so it’s good to be back on top form.”

The White Rose Awards acknowledge the best in Yorkshire tourism and recognise the stars in Yorkshire’s tourism industry from arts and culture to events and attractions, accommodation, food and drink.

Sir Gary Verity chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire said: “Every single winner and finalist this evening deserves huge congratulations, they are all stars of Yorkshire and the UK’s tourism industry and should be incredibly proud of their achievements.

Yorkshire has some of the best food and drink, accommodation, arts and attractions in the world thanks to the fantastic effort of our members and I hope they are as proud as we are of everything we achieve together to keep our county a number one visitor destination.”

Other finalists from Craven were Beck Hall, in Malham, which was highly commended in the Small Hotel of the Year category and Settle Victoria Hall, highly commended in the Arts and Culture award.
