TWO PARKSIDE School students have been praised for their excellent cooking in the local final of the Future Chef contest.
Tasha Nasir and Tom Jepson had hoped to follow in the footsteps of schoolmate Imogen pickles who last year reached the national finals.
But at this year’s heat in Leeds the pair did not manage to cook their way through to the next round.
Sarah Towers, food tech teacher at the Cullingworth school, said both youngsters represented the school excellently and produced amazing food in an industrial-style kitchen.
She said: “The standard was very high this year with all students producing amazing food and very high standards of presentation.
“Unfortunately Tasha and Tom didn't get through to the next round but I hope to see them compete again next year!”
Imogen came third in last year’s Future Chef competition, after beating 12,000 young entrants to reach the national final in 2017.
