PEOPLE from across the Bradford district and Craven are being invited to attend a special carol service marking the 70th birthday of the NHS.

Staff from the area’s three clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) are helping to organise the event, which will feature carols, music and readings.

Speakers will include the Bishop of Bradford, the Right Rev Toby Howarth (pictured).

And there will be performances from choirs, plus the Bradford Youth Brass Band.

A spokesman for the CCGs said: “There’s really nothing like a carol service for getting everyone in the festive mood.

“And we will be giving thanks for 70 years of the NHS and marking the dedication and service of those who work within it.

“There will be a warm welcome for anyone who would like to attend and a chance to catch up with friends, old and new, when refreshments are served afterwards.”

The service takes place at Bradford Cathedral next Thursday (Dec 13).

Doors will open at 6.30pm and the service starts at 7pm.

No tickets are needed and admission is free.
