KEIGHLEY men who run a takeaway in Lancashire have improved upon the national accolade they picked up in 2017.
Ali Miah and Oly Uddin own Spice Touch, in Carnforth, which was among the top seven in the takeaway section of the 2018 British Curry Awards – even better than their success at the 2017 awards when they were among the top ten.
Ali, 31, who lives in Riddlesden, and Oly, 26, who lives in Knowle Park, have run Spice Touch for more than five years.
They continue to drive 120 miles from Keighley to Carnforth and back nearly every day of the week to reach their business.
Reacting to the latest award, Ali said: “We feel overwhelmed to be honest. We work many hours, including at antisocial times, to provide people with a good service, and it’s great to have that recognised.”
He said the awards ceremony in Chelsea, London, had been a glamorous occasion, attended by guests such as former England goalkeeper David Seaman and contestants from TV contest The Apprentice.
