CLIFFE Castle parkrun in Keighley is staging extra events over Christmas and the New Year.

In addition to the usual Saturday runs, there will be a 9am run on Christmas Day and one at 10.30am on New Year's Day.

Anyone is welcome to attend the free events, which cover a five-kilometre course.

People can walk or run the route.

Event director, Carol Senior, said: "We have had tremendous support from the people of Keighley since the parkrun started in September so we decided to have some fun at Christmas.

"The Christmas Day event will help you make room for lunch and the New Year’s Day run has a theme of ‘come wearing what you wore last night’, perfect for those making their way home from a very late party!

"Mindful of the fact that not everyone is as fortunate as us, we have teamed-up with Sue Ryder Manorlands hospice which has created a special Just Giving page for anyone wishing to make a donation at our events over the festive period."
