STAFF at Keighley’s Royal Mail delivery office have been given early Christmas greetings by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Cllr Zafar Ali when he called in to see their work.

Cllr Ali was shown around the office by the delivery office manager and was introduced to the postmen and women, who will be pulling out all the stops to sort and deliver mail in Keighley and the surrounding area in the forthcoming busy Christmas period, the busiest time of year for the service.

Cllr Zafar Ali said: “At no other time is the hard work and dedication of postmen and women clearer than during the festive period.

“It was great to meet the team here at Keighley and thank them for the extraordinary lengths they will go to ensure Christmas parcels and cards are delivered to loved ones on time, as well as thanking them for delivering our mail services all through the year, in all weathers.”

Colin Riley, Royal Mail delivery office manager, said: “We are grateful that Cllr Zafar Ali visited the office to see our operation and to support the team.”
